Transmission for Forklift - A transmission or gearbox utilizes gear ratios so as to provide speed and torque conversions from one rotating power source to another. "Transmission" refers to the entire drive train which comprises, prop shaft, gearbox, clutch, differential and final drive shafts. Transmissions are most normally used in vehicles. The transmission alters the output of the internal combustion engine so as to drive the wheels. These engines must perform at a high rate of rotational speed, something that is not suitable for slower travel, stopping or starting.
